Microsoft Access WizHook References
The Microsoft Access WizHook object has been shrouded in mystery since its first known public appearance as part of Skrol's VTools add-in.
Until recently, the only decent documentation on the object came from non-English websites.
While modern auto-translation makes those resources more accessible to English-speaking developers than in years past, there's finally a good English-first resource for the WizHook object that I can recommend.
IslaDogs' WizHook Reference
Fellow Access MVP Colin Riddington (aka, IslaDogs) has a page dedicated to the WizHook object:
The page includes a downloadable Access database with usage samples and documentation for every WizHook method. As you can see in the screenshot below, the methods are color-coded to indicate which ones are:
- Fully Working (green)
- Partly Working (yellow)
- Not Working/Unknown (blue)
- No Longer Applicable (orange) - related to Data Access Pages
As I understand it, the sample database is a translation/expansion of the original database provided by Thomas Moeller, whose German-language by-method detailed documentation is widely considered the authoritative reference on the WizHook object.
