JetShowPlan Manager

JetShowPlan is Microsoft Access's query performance analyzer.

I wrote an extended article on the topic several months ago:

JetShowPlan: A Primer
You may be familiar with JetShowPlan, but I guarantee you’ve never read an article about it quite like this one.

Within that article, I reference the AutoHotkey scripts I use to simplify turning the Jet ShowPlan feature on and off.  However, I realize many Access users may not be interested in learning an entire scripting language just to make it easier to use this one feature in Access.

I do think AutoHotkey is worth learning in and of itself.  I've written several articles about the AHK scripts I use when developing Access applications.

A Quick and Easy Way to try JetShowPlan

If all you want to do is give JetShowPlan a try, you may want to check out Colin Riddington's JetShowPlan Manager.

You may know Colin by his Access World Forum screen name, IslaDogs.  I've never actually used JetShowPlan Manager (I'm quite happy with my AHK scripts, remember?).  Based on what I know of Colin's Access abilities, though, I feel comfortable wholeheartedly recommending his application.

Check it out and let me know what you think in the comments below.
