# Bug Fix: Generic / Text Only Printer Driver Memory Error

A couple weeks ago, I [wrote about](https://nolongerset.com/generic-printer-driver-bug/) the latest bug from Microsoft that led to out of memory errors in MS Access when printing to the "Generic / Text Only" printer driver:

I ended that article with some final thoughts:

And here's the email I received while on vacation at 7 AM on July 1:

Luckily, I had read the [article warning of the bug](https://www.accessforever.org/post/windows-generic-text-only-printer-driver-fails-with-access-reports) over at AccessForever.org, so I had briefed my employees that there was a strong possibility *this* client would have *this* problem while I was away:

## The Bug Fix

The good news is the bug appears to have been fixed.

George Hepworth [updated the original article](https://www.accessforever.org/post/windows-generic-text-only-printer-driver-fails-with-access-reports#viewer-72kto1702) with the particular Windows updates (released on July 9, 2024) that seem to fix the issue:
